The AUKUS alliance is much more than just Australia acquiring nuclear submarines, with the agreement opening new opportunities, including technology and innovation into areas such as cyber and artificial intelligence.
Caroline Kennedy, United States Ambassador to Australia, recently said: “I think AUKUS is a really significant partnership between three of the closest allies, it includes submarines but also other areas of co-operation that will provide great benefits to all our countries.”
This has also been echoed by the Australian Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese who said it “… represents a transformational movement for our nation, our Defence Force and our economy."
The AUKUS alliance is creating opportunities that will benefit Australia in many ways beyond bolstering our defence force.
