MissileCorp, in collaboration with the AUKUS Forum, aims to empower Australia's defence landscape by pioneering a self-sustaining, innovative, and world-competitive missile industry. Through strategic collaborations and unwavering dedication to local manufacturing excellence, the aim is to fortify the Australian Defence Force with cutting-edge, reliable, and efficient guided weaponry solutions.
MissileCorp is at the forefront of bolstering Australia's local manufacturing sector through its collaboration in the Sovereign Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance (GWEO) Enterprise. By fostering strong partnerships, we're dedicated to nurturing a vibrant ecosystem that connects governments, academic institutions, SMEs, and major domestic and international corporations, all with a unified focus on strengthening Australia's homegrown manufacturing capabilities.
Our mission is vital and clear: to centralise Australia's missile industry's collective expertise to proficiently handle every aspect of guided weapons and explosive ordnance. This includes design, manufacturing, testing, sustainment, training, storage, and disposal activities, ensuring the Australian Defence Force (ADF) maintains a strategic advantage.
In realising this mission, we emphasise the importance of local manufacturing. The GWEO initiative taken on 5 April 2022 marks a significant step in empowering the Australian manufacturing sector within the global defence industry.
The Defence Strategic Review explicitly recommends the acceleration of weapons systems development, highlighting the need for in-country missile and munition manufacturing facilities. These advancements are crucial in promoting self-reliance, reducing dependencies on foreign supply chains, and enhancing national security and defence preparedness.
The long-term vision for the GWEO Enterprise transcends initial reliance on international support. The ultimate goal is to achieve a self-sustaining and resilient manufacturing base within Australia. This not only encompasses the production of cutting-edge weaponry but also extends to the broader aspects of maintenance, infrastructure development, research, and innovation, thereby contributing to nationwide economic growth and job creation.
Furthermore, the push for an 'integrated force' model by the Defence Strategic Review underscores the necessity for modernisation in all defence domains – maritime, land, air, space, and cyber. This comprehensive approach ensures that the growth of Australia's manufacturing sector is aligned with the dynamic needs of modern warfare and defence strategies.
We invite entities skilled in various facets of manufacturing to join us in this national endeavour. Your expertise is key in shaping a robust, future-proof, and world-class defence manufacturing industry in Australia. Together, we will enhance the GWEO Enterprise's lethal capability, protect sensitive technologies and IP, manage risks effectively, and ensure maximum value for the nation.
