The National Security Manufacturing Hub (NSMH) is a flagship initiative of the AUKUS Forum, delivering sovereign advanced manufacturing capability to support Australia’s national security, defence, and strategic industry priorities.
The Hub will integrate advanced manufacturing, autonomous systems, and dual-use defence technologies into a single, coordinated platform—accelerating industrial capability, strengthening supply chains, and positioning Australia at the forefront of next-generation defence industry.

The National Security Manufacturing Hub will act as a catalyst for sustained regional jobs growth and economic development, creating high-value employment across advanced trades, engineering, and digital manufacturing. By attracting defence-aligned investment and integrating local businesses into national and allied supply chains, the Hub will stimulate new industry formation, support SME growth, and drive long-term economic diversification. This will not only increase local employment opportunities but also build a skilled workforce pipeline, ensuring regions can retain talent, uplift productivity, and participate in high-growth, future-focused industries.

The Hub will strengthen Australia’s position in international trade and investment by creating a globally competitive, sovereign manufacturing capability aligned with allied priorities. By supporting participation in AUKUS-aligned supply chains and enabling the export of advanced technologies, components, and services, the Hub will open new pathways into key defence and strategic markets. At the same time, it will attract foreign direct investment from partners seeking secure, reliable, and regionally scalable manufacturing capability—positioning Australia as a trusted industrial partner in an increasingly contested global environment.
